 Welcome to the New Season Guide. The major event taking place this winter/spring is Radical Nature which begins in the New Year.
Radical Nature – Art and Architecture for a Changing Planet 1969-2009 is a major exhibition touring from the Barbican Art Gallery and visiting 3 venues in East Ayrshire (the only Scottish venues to host the event) before it continues on a world tour. Curated by Francesco Manacorda the exhibition explores the role of the environment in art and architecture and explores the history of artists engagement with ecology and environmentalism.
The exhibition features work by pioneering figures such as the architectural collective Ant Farm and visionary architect Richard Buckminster Fuller, artists Joseph Beuys, Agnes Denes, Hans Haacke and Robert Smithson. In addition to large-scale sculptures the exhibition will also feature photographs, artist film and original drawings and is well worth a visit.
